Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe – A Timeless Classic

ccc2

I truly believe every mom needs to have at least one reliable FROM SCRATCH Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe.

It can be from the back of the chocolate chip bag, or it can be the recipe passed down from your great great great great aunt.

Regardless of where your recipe originates…it’s one of those recipes that you will be remembered for when you are long gone.

Your children will remember you making these cookies and their memories will be fond. Even if they were mostly burnt.

Even if they were undercooked.

They’ll remember they were made with love.

This chocolate chip cookie recipe is one that I use often. It’s simple and basic.

Clean Kitchen

Just the way I like my recipes.

Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of melted butter
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 teaspoons hot water
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

Directions:

  1. Cream together your butter and your sugars until nice and creamy ( I use my KitchenAid)
  2. Add your eggs one at a time and mix. Add the vanilla extract.
  3. In a small bowl, mix your baking soda with hot water.
  4. Add the baking soda mixture to your sugar mixture and mix.
  5. Mix your flour, salt, chocolate chips and cinnamon together in a seperate bowl.
  6. Add to your sugar mixture and mix until combined.
  7. Refrigerate your cookie dough for about an hour.
  8. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  9. Drop by rounded tablespoon onto an ungreased cookie sheet (I like this one).
  10. Bake for 15-17 minutes. Don’t overcook.
  11. Let cool on a wire rack (like this).

We love chocolate cookies at our house. These look yummy. What’s the texture like on them? I might have to give them a try to change things up from our normal recipe a bit.
