Grab Your Kids and Make Bunny Bait! (Plus DIY Microwave Popcorn)

Bunny Bait

Lately, as I’ve been surfing Pinterest, I’ve noticed some tasty concoctions of Popcorn + Easter M&M’s + White Chocolate.

It was all I could do to stop myself from hopping in the car and buying what I would need to make this bunny bait ASAP!

I waited though, and added the ingredients to my weekly grocery list.

I used this recipe here, because I really wanted the pretzels in my bunny bait. My little bunnies LOVE pretzels! 😉

Let’s Make Bunny Bait!

First off, I decided I wanted to try to make my own microwavable popcorn.

We put a 1/2 cup of popcorn kernals into a brown paper bag and folded it over 2 times. Threw it in the microwave for 3 minutes and the kids waited anxiously for the first pop!

There it is!

I was a bit surprised that it worked! Look at this tasty popcorn! No oil, no butter, no salt, just popped corn. (Don’t worry though, we’ll unhealthy it up in just a moment)

Next I handed the kids each a plastic baggie filled with pretzels and the rolling pin and let them get to work! They really enjoyed this part.

I split the M&M’s in two (I used one bag) and let them each pour some in.

Finally I heated up the white chocolate (I just used 8 oz of Nestle white chocolate chips) and drizzled it onto the popcorn mixture.

Stirred it up and laid it out on a greased baking sheet.

After naptime, we feasted on bunny bait (um…and I did a little feasting while they napped!)

You can get the complete recipe here, or just google bunny bait for many many different variations!

Happy Easter!

They had so much fun. The odd thing is that I thought it made very little and it would be gone quickly. It’s quite sweet though so we can only handle little bits at a time. It might make it to Easter! LOL
